Bomber jackets are here for the long haul, here’s our edit of the best cuts to keep you looking fly

A closet chameleon, the bomber jacket is perfect for winter layering and should be permanently stationed in any man’s wardrobe. So what does this season’s iteration look like? On the catwalk, Prada showcased a supersized silhouette and familiar orange lining, while Armani celebrated aeronautical style with vintage-type jackets worn with matching leather gloves and goggles.

And the high street has of course continued the hype. Take command in H&M’s uranium blue loose-fit style, Reiss’ suede-leather two-tone design or Gant’s faux-fur trimmed offering. Quilted versions, tactile bouclé and merino wool fabrics manoeuvre your wardrobe into the colder weather – layer Charles Tyrwhitt’s knitted bomber underneath a larger coat as temperatures plummet. Meanwhile, Superdry’s embroidered design conjures up images of Ryan Gosling’s iconic scorpion embellished version in ‘Drive’ – a definite scene-stealer.
